Bad Composition and Good Composition

Bad Compositions- They lack a mixture of hue variation throughout the picture. Also they have very limit difference because the positive and negative space, which means there is no space development. These pictures lack shape and form. The eye is unable to move steadily throughout the artwork. The car photo has limit dimension and the colors blend without much of a difference despite a shape difference. The picture of the clothes pile lacks dimension and form. There is no shape to the photo. The final two pictures also have color differentiation problems. The last picture is blurry and has no order. There is no structure to the photograph and no value to emphasis shade differences.

Good Composition
This is not a standard typical beautiful picture, but it does include numerous elements of good composition. It has tremendous value from the shade differentiations in the stairs. The stairs provide line and depth. They also provide a geometric shape. The debris at the bottom help develop various forms of texture from the clean stairs at the top of the photograph to the rough bottom and textured end of the photo. It has depth and a 3D length. The colors all flow together and the what stairwell provides a negative space for the debris at the bottom of the picture. This picture is working with similar hues, but it still is about to invoke space from its positive areas. Good art is not always beautiful and clean.
